Nadja Herger is a data- and purpose-driven professional with over 8 years of experience in Data Science and Responsible AI. Currently serving as the Director of Model Stewardship at Thomson Reuters, Nadja specializes in managing high-performing globally-distributed teams and leading initiatives related to AI governance and ethics.

With a strong technical background, Nadja has been instrumental in developing and implementing enterprise-wide Model Governance programs, ensuring the responsible use of AI across various projects and initiatives. Her expertise lies in analyzing complex datasets using advanced AI/ML methods to derive novel insights and deliver solutions with real-world impact.

Nadja holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from UNSW Australia, focusing on climate model subset selection, as well as a Master of Science (MSc) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Sciences from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich.

Passionate about the ethical use of technology for social good, Nadja is committed to driving positive change through her work in AI governance and responsible AI.


Responsible AI in Practice: From Data to Delivery at Scale

As organizations increasingly adopt AI to address customer needs, rapid delivery of AI-powered solutions at scale is key. At the same time, AI poses new and unfamiliar risks for the organization and beyond. This requires us to build flexible and innovative governance best practices to ensure ethical and responsible design, delivery, and growth of AI products.
This talk highlights the challenges and learnings navigating this ever-evolving landscape based on a specific Thomson Reuters use case. You will take away practical advice on finding the synergy between product innovation and AI governance and risk management.

Our board members are currently reviewing speaker submissions to decide which talks to bring to the Data & AI Leadership Day stage.

The first round of speakers will be announced at the end of February, so stay tuned!

Data & AI Leadership Day will be on June 19, 2024, from 7am to 5.30pm CEST, followed by informal drinks and networking.
